Assessments

BMEC recognises that the best way of assessing knowledge and skills at this level is by use of work related assignments. For the majority of units on BMEC programmes, assessment is through an assignment in the form of a business report or case study. When a student has registered with BMEC, the assignments for the appropriate units will be sent to the Centre for distribution. The Centre will ensure that the student receives all assignments for the given programme. Students should be encouraged to spread completion of these assignments over a full academic year.

Each unit will be graded according to the following system:-

Grade Percentage obtained Degree equivalent
A 70% + First class
B 60-69% Upper second
C 50-59% Lower second
D 40-49% Third class
E Under 40% Fail

The final column in this table gives an indication of how BMEC grades compare to the standard system used for UK degree classification.  However, please note that BMEC will award A to E grades as described.
